Lexmark x215 printing on Apple Mac

Lexmark say their x215 model is not supported on the Mac. Lexmark don’t provide any drivers so it’s impossible for any Mac users (like me) to use their Lexmark X215 printer… until now!

The Samsung SCX-4216F is a very similar printer and provides Mac drivers… So i tested this driver instead and it works fine!

Simply go to the Samsung website and download the Mac driver for model SCX-4216F. Install on your Mac. Attach your X215 printer but use the SCX-4×16F drivers. Printing works fine.

I haven’t tested whether scanning works yet - the X215 uses standard TWAIN so might work but I haven’t found time to test it yet.

Actually, I seem to have figured it out. Thanks for the great tip. Printer works great! Never scanned with it anyway.

Thanks, we had one of these with a dead fax/scanner unit. Rather than throw it away, i’ve installed it as a printer. Just installed the driver and it worked a treat.
